FIGURE 8.0.png

A pregnancy records details of the gestation period and the birth.

Mating Date: Select the mating date that generated this pregnancy. The parent’s details will be copied across. This provides a link in the data between a mating and a pregnancy.

Mother and Father: The mother and father involved in the pregnancy.

Birthing Date Estimated: Taken from the gestation period defined in the female profile. This is the estimated date the animal will give birth. Alternatively this can be defined here. This date generates a reminder when the pregnancy is saved ahead of time. The reminder will display for two weeks before the estimated birthing date occurs and will only be removed when the actual birthing date is recorded. The number of months is converted to days and added roughly to a mating date.

Birthing Date Actual: This is the date and time the animals started to be born. This is also copied to the mothers profile to define the last birthing date if it is newer that a previously defined date.

Birthing Address: The physical location of the births.

Birthing Time and Duration: The length of time between the first birth and last birth.

Pregnancy Medications: Any medications that must be administered to the mother during the pregnancy or birthing period.

Caesarean Performed: Was a caesarean required to be performed during this birth?

# of: Statistics of the birthed children.

Notes: Any notes of interest during the birth.

Children: Here we can add a group or litter to the pregnancy. The children’s profiles will automatically be populated with the parents details defined in the pregnancy such as birthing address, date of birth, mother and father names and microchips and date parents mated.

Note: As an alternative to adding the children here, since we have to create the child profiles anyway, we can now go to Groups and create a litter to attach to this this pregnancy.

TUTORIAL STEP: Tap "SAVE" > tap “HOME”.

TUTORIAL STEP: Tap the “ADD NEW” button.

We now have two children profiles that will be created and added to the litter with some temporary information. The animals are too small to name and identify just yet but we now have a way to find their profiles and add the information we want to them later.

After saving, you will notice the children are now in the Group Members section. They have also been automatically updated with the parent’s details and added to the pregnancy.

TUTORIAL STEP: Tap the “GROUP TYPE” button > tap “LITTERS”.

TUTORIAL STEP: Tap the “PREGNANCY BIRTHING DATE” button > tap “PICK FROM LIST” > tap the birthing date specified earlier.

TUTORIAL STEP: In Group Name, type a Litter name e.g. “2019-07-01 – Romeo & Juliet”.

TUTORIAL STEP: Tap (with Group Prefix) > tap “FEMALE” > tap “HEALTHY” > tap “ADD CHILD MEMBER”.

TUTORIAL STEP: Tap “MALE” > tap “ABNORMAL” > tap “DECEASED” > tap “ADD CHILD MEMBER”.

If a profile is found for the selected animal, an option to navigate to that profile is displayed. The lineage screen can be printed or emailed as a screen shot. The name and thumbnails of each animal will be displayed if they have any in their profile.

As you can see you can either use litters or individual animals to view the lineage.
