A random 17 character id is assigned to your device. E.g. 20190705083005112

Here we can choose what parts of Breeding Buddy we want to synchronize.

If the drop box username or password ever changes, then “CLEAR CREDENTIALS”. Also if you are still logged in under that account, log out of that account on the Web Browser. These are the two steps required to reconnect to drop box under a different account.

The unique random id is important in the fact that this is how Breeding Buddy keeps track of how many devices and which device has synchronized. E.g on a PC we can have a look at the following folder.

When you allow Breeding Buddy to create the folder, Breeding Buddy will cache your login session information, not your username and password. Breeding Buddy will then be able to transfer to and from your Breeding Buddy online cloud folder.

FIGURE 22.3.png

We can see there is 17 devices synchronizing. Let’s say you modify or delete a record on a single device. That change must make its way to each device. So you synchronize the device that made the change with drop box. Now the drop box database knows that there are 16 other devices that need these changes. Until each device has completed synchronization, Breeding Buddy will repeat the change to each database it synchronizes with.

Why is this important? Because if a device is lost or stolen, then the changes will never make it to every device. This then means the change codes will accumulate and increase the time Breeding Buddy needs to synchronize each time.

If you do lose a device, it is recommended to delete the associated synchronization flag from the sync devices folder. You can see the amount of pending deletion changes listed above. This will be 0 when all devices are synchronized.

To perform a synchronization tap the “START SYNC” button.
